@ A-Kap, and other exam passers that took the exam, help us out please my friends,
What were your exam labs and sim?

which on of these lab and sims you got:

    1) LACP with stp Lab
    2) VTPv3 sim – what where answers for 4 questions?
    3)VTP lab
    3) HSRP Sim

Please confirm drag and drop (DnD)?
If anyone has question for dump please share with me at email : carluhorn at gmail dot com

    Thank you in advance

What will be the behavior of an access port when a tagged packet is received, with a VLAN ID of an access port?

    A. The tag is removed and packet is forwarded to a VLAN of access port
    B. The tag is removed and packet is forwarded of the VLAN mentioned in the tag.
    C. The tag is not removed and packet is forwarded of the VLAN mentioned in the tag.
    D. Packet is dropped.

    I labbed this

SW-A int Gi1/0/1 – static trunk with allowed VLAN 10
SW-B int Gi1/0/1 – static access with access VLAN 10

PC-A Connected to SW-A on a static access interface in VLAN 10
PC-B Connected to SW-B on a static access interface in VLAN 10

I was not able see any traffic from the PC-A to PC-B when monitoring Gi1/0/1 on SW-B
It works fine if the access port it changed to trunk.

So my conclusion is D. the packet is dropped

Guys is everyone preparing only the same 3 labs:
    HSRP
    VTPv3
    LACP with STP

or are you guys also preparing the other labs..just in case?

    What about this one?

Refer to the exhibit. Which two commands about SW1 are true? (Choose two)
“screenshot showing Native VLAN is 600 for G6/2 & 802.1q used for G5/1”

    A. Interface Gi5/1 is using a Cisco proprietary trunking protocol
    B. On interface Gi5/1, all untagged traffic is tagged with VLAN 113
    C. The device is configured with the default MST region
    D. Interface Gi5/1 is using an industry standard trunking protocol
    E. Interface Gi6/2 is the root port for VLAN 36
    F. On interface Gi6/2, all untagged traffic is tagged with VLAN 600

    I thought F, but explanation…..
“NOTE – Answer F is not correct because VLAN 600 is the native VLAN on Gi6/2 does not mean untagged traffic is tagged with this VLAN. It only means “all untagged traffic belongs to VLAN 600”.”

Is that right and we have to guess the MST answer?

    @Switchy

Thats scary – i was just looking at exactly that question

I did a lab to see if E might be correct:
e.g. if the trunk port connect to the STP root for all VLANs, do we always see all the VLANs in spanning tree forwarding state and not pruned

The answer is predictable. Even if the trunk connects to the STP root for all VLAN’s, the VLAN’s are pruned if there are no active ports in the VLAN on the root switch.

So we cannot say that just because all the VLAN’s are not pruned on that trunk, the upstream switch is the root. there is no correlation.

So I would stick with C and D

    From https://www.certprepare.com/vtp-questions-3-2

This took me a while to figure out the logic…

    (Exhibit)
shows 6 switch topology and different VLANS allowed on trunks
on the right side switches have 1-101
on the left side switches have 10-101

If switch SW6 is operating VTP Server and the other devices have the same configuration as SW4, which statement about the VLANs network is true?

SW4# show run | include vtp
    vtp mode client
    vtp domain cisco
    vtp domain ciscotest
    vtp pruning
    vtp version 3

    A. Traffic on VLANs 1 through 9 is flooded to all switches in the network
    B. VLANs 1 through 101 are operational on all switch trunks
    C. VLANs 1 through 9 are pruned on the link between SW1 and SW4
    D. VLANs 1 through 101 are pruned on the link between SW1 and SW2

The exhibit suggests that the VTP domain name has been changed on all the switches except SW6 (SW1 – SW5 have the same configuration as the one shown…). Whether or not it matches the VTP domain name of switch 6, we do not know.

If we assume that its different, this means that SW-6 (the VTP server) is isolated from the rest of the switches. But SW1 – SW5 still active in the same domain name.

How does this affect VTP pruning?

it will still function on switches 1-5. But why?

If they already have the VLANs 1-101 in their VLAN.dat, they can share status of their acive VLANs through VTP because they share the same domain name.

However, pruning wont work between SW6 and its neighbours, as they wont be able to share VTP information anymore. All VLANs will get pruned on these links – This is confirmed – i tested it it

So again assuming that all the VLANs already exist on the client switches. answer C is correct

    C. VLANs 1 through 9 are pruned on the link between SW1 and SW4

EtherChannel load balancing with an exhibit.
    SERVER SERVER
    | |
    S W I T C H
    |||||||||||
    S W I T C H
    |
    HOST
Which EtherChannel load balancing algorithm should be used to optimize the EtherChannel links between switches?
    A. Source MAC
    B. Source-dest MAC
    C. Destination IP
    D. Destination MAC

    always seems opposite to me?
    ? answer

    February 20th, 2020

    @Taker222

    The answer is A

  11. BoxingSurfer
    February 20th, 2020

    @swollnibba

Its definitely not A. traffic from workstation to each server will always use the same etherchannel member link in this case

    I think B is best

different combinations of source and destination mac addresses will create the best etherchannel traffic distribution

Which two commands must you use to configure an interface to send traffic from a non-default native VLAN across a link that supports all VLANs? (Choose two)
    A. encapsulation dot1Q 90 native
    B. switchport trunk native vlan 90
    C. switchport access vlan 1
    D. switchport mode trunk
    E. switchport access vlan 90

I think it is B and D. But the dump has A,B

“C. VLANs 1 through 9 are pruned on the link between SW1 and SW4”
It is a little odd though as you can’t prune vlan1

For the etherchannel load balancing Q..
Is the “Destination IP” the IP of the website/domain they are trying to get to? Or the IP of the web server?

    @MM
Switchport mode Trunk (.across a link that supports VLANs)
Switchport trunk native VLAN 90 (non default (not 1) native VLAN
    Seems correct to me?

Hi everyone I passed the exam today 8XX score.
LACP-STP lab, HSRP sim, and VTP. Drag & Drop where SPAN(Source Port/Destination Port);Drag and Drop about PVST, Rapid-pvst, and MST; Drag drop about GLBP; Drag drop about RADIUS & TACACS+*.

NOTE on the HSRP SIM–> If router R1 interface Etherne0/0 goes down and recovers, which of the statement regarding HSRP priority is true? The port # in this question really threw me off because it referenced Ethernet0/1 and when I did the show standby & show run all I saw for that port was HSRP group 38 so that through me off… I am assuming it was following another group? in any case I selected answer C for that one.

In addition, questions are same as certprepare. Some have answers that are just reworded so definitely make sure you understand the material. for questions I got… it was a mix of EtherChannel, CDP, LLDP, STP features, SPAN/RSPAN/VSPAN, HSRP, IP Source Guard, DAI, port security.

VTP ( for question about the removing of pruning I selected SW1 as it was the primary server for the VTP domain and with VTP3 and private VLANs to be used, you have to be either in server or transparent mode so that is why i selected that answer)

one last note… for LACP lab (fa03-4 are shutdown on switch A). Also the port channel needs to be done on the physical ports and when doing the “range” command make sure to do a space example fa0/3 – 4.

    That’s all! good luck everyone!!

“For the etherchannel load balancing Q..

dont forget load balancing would work bidirectionally, so the destination IP address depends which way the traffic is going. It might work ok for traffic from the host up to each server but not so good for the traffic coming back

thats why i think using a source and destination attribute combination is better

“VTP ( for question about the removing of pruning I selected SW1 as it was the primary server for the VTP domain and with VTP3 and private VLANs to be used, you have to be either in server or transparent mode so that is why i selected that answer)”

    I think thats a trick.
VTPv3 pruning is be enabled and disabled on switches individually. It doesnt propagate from the VTP server like it does in earlier VTP modes. So I would stick with disabling it on the switch where PVLAN is to be configured.

Ive tested this many times in lab

I think it is B and D. As you said

    A. encapsulation dot1Q 90 native
This command is valid on a router subinterface. But its an odd one to have in a switching exam

I agree, I spent a bit of time on that question due to that fact of testing it myself and then reading the contradicting material on Cisco or its their wording who knows hahaha.. but yeah it was a tough one… They really need to state which switches / codes as well because now a days we all have a mix of Nexus/CATs. But they have corrected that with the new exam that is coming out.. I am just happy I could recertify so I have time to hash out Automation!

    @CCNP

Can you apply all config under the physical interface?
    for example like this:
    SW-A(config)#interface range fa0/3 – 4
    SW-A(config-if)#no switchport mode access
    SW-A(config-if)#no switchport access vlan 98
    SW-A(config-if)#switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
    SW-A(config-if)#switchport mode trunk
    SW-A(config-if)#switchport trunk native vlan 99
    SW-A(config-if)#switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,21-23
    SW-A(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode active
    SW-A(config-if)#channel-protocol lacp
