  1. LACP Lab Q
    February 19th, 2020

can i please ask. when setting up the trunks do you set the vlans allowed/native/protocol on the TRUNKS and the PORT-CHANNEL? or just set in port-channel config? like this…

    interface range fa0/3 – 4
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport trunk vlan native 99
    switchport trunk vlan allowed 1,21-23
    channel-group 1 mode passive
    channel-protocol lacp

    interface port-channel 1
    switchport mode trunk
    switchport trunk vlan native 99
    switchport trunk vlan allowed 1,21-23
    no shutdown

please help, do i set in both like above? They both seem to work in packet tracer.

    Just passed with score 90x.
Vtpv3 SIM, hsrp SIM, lacp with stp lab
Only one DND RSPAN VLAN true / false
This site is enough to pass but be sure you have studied enough.
A lot of DHCP / span questions.

Good luck and thank you certprepare !!!!

  3. Test Today!!
    February 19th, 2020

what did you answer for RSPAN true vs False please?

    True
    – MAC address learning is disabled
    – Supports only STP
    – Supports only VTP

    False
    – Uses VLAN ID 2-1001
    – Uses VLAN ID 2-1024

Whats with the “only” VTP and “only STP” ?

    More labs today

I just did stackwise in real hardware to check this

Under which two circumstances does a stackwise master lose is role

A – when a stack master is reset
B – when the priority value of a stack member is changed to a higher value
C – when a switch with a higher priority is added to the stack
    D – when a stack member fails
E – when switch stack resets

    Here’s what I tested

First C what happens when a switch with a higher priority is added to the stack
    Two switches
    SW-A – Priority 6
    SW-B – Priority 15
They not connected so they are both masters.
I connected them together switch the SW-A with P6 automatically rebooted and become a member

so C is correct: when a switch with a higher priority is added to the stack the stackwise master lose is role

    Next B
I change the priority of the stacked switches as follows
    SW-A – Priority 15
    SW-B – Priority 3

After this change. Everything stay the same.
B is is incorrect: The master remains the master when the priority value of a stack member is changed to a higher value

    Next D – when a stack member fails…
    SW-A – Priority 15
SW-B – Priority 3 >> Currently still the master (from the previous test)

    Reload SW-A.
After the reload, SW-A rejoins as a member. SW-B remains the master

D is incorrect: when a stack member fails the master doesnt lose its role.

Next A – when a stack master is reset

    SW-A – Priority 15
SW-B – Priority 3 >> Currently still the master (from the previous test)

    Reload SW-B
SW-B – status changes to ‘removed’ and SW-A immediately becomes the Master
after reload the SW-B joins the stack as member, even though it has lower priority

A is correct: when a stack master is reset it loose its role

so we have our two right answers

A is correct: when a stack master is reset it loose its role as the stackwise master
C is correct: when a switch with a higher priority is added to the stack the stackwise master lose is role

As for E when switch stack resets all members loose their role, and the stack election occurs between all members
but I think A and C are more correct

    Please confirm RSPAN D&D
    True
    – MAC address learning is disabled
    – Supports only STP
    – Supports only VTP

    False
    – Uses VLAN ID 2-1001
    – Uses VLAN ID 2-1024

    February 19th, 2020

I have question with Lab VTPv3 in exam.

when I show the show vtp status on Sw1 and 2
Primary ID is not MAC address on Sw1 and 2
Primary Description : Sw1 (Same device Sw1 name)

Then this question should be answer : set vtp mode off and create vlan a,b then change back to vtp server ?

@Boxing_Surfer.. I have the same Question as “LACP Q” on last page.
do you set the commands for “mode trunk, vlans allowed, encap dot1q, no shut” onto…

    Both trunk and port-channel
    just the port-channel?

  15. Switchy
    February 19th, 2020

    @Boxing_Surfer
I agree with you on stackwise A and C….

Add a Switch as a Master to the Stack
    1. With the new switch powered on, connect the StackWise ports of the switch to the stack.
    2. The election for the stack master occurs, and the new switch will be elected as the master since it has the highest priority value.
    3. The members of the previous stack will reboot themselves to join the new stack. After all the members come up, issue the command show switch to verify stack membership

  16. boxingSurfer
    February 19th, 2020

    @Switchy

When i do this in real hardware i only set the channel mode on the member ports
After that the port-channel interface gets create
After that i do the rest of the configuration on the port-channel, and IOS duplicates the relevant config down to the member ports

On the exam I would try to do the same on the exam and if it doesnt work then i will do it manually on the interfaces and the port channel.

    QUESTION 9
What happens if a switch with dhcp snooping and ip source guard enabled globally, what does the switch
do when it receives a packet with option 82?
    A. Drop
    B. Remove 82 and forward
    C. Prwsoxy ARP
    D. Nothing
    Correct Answer: B

    @DeShaune

    For RSPAN VLANS

I think there is something wrong with this. question. But we can go through them one at a time

    Use this for reference:
    https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/lan/catalyst3750x_3560x/software/release/12-2_55_se/configuration/guide/3750xscg/swspan.html

    – MAC address learning is disabled < DEFINITELY TRUE

    – Uses VLAN ID 2-1001 <- DEFINITELY TRUE
These VLAN ID's are valid for RSPAN

    – Supports only STP < LIKELY TRUE
STP runs on RSPAN VLANs like any other with one exception. Destination ports in RSPAN VLANs dont participate in STP

    – Uses VLAN ID 2-1024 <- DEFINITELY FALSE.
The VLANs 1002 – 1006 cannot be configured as RSPAN VLAns

    – Supports only VTP <- LIKELY TRUE – RSPAN VLANs support VTP for propogation and pruning like any other VLAN

  26. Switchy
    February 19th, 2020

    Depends how you read it…

“Uses ONLY VLAN IDs 2-1001” – would be false as it can use also VLAN 1 and extended VLANs….

“CAN use VLAN IDs 2 – 1001” – Would be true, as it can use those and more….

    February 19th, 2020

Does anyone know the CORRECT ANSER FOR THIS Q?

    TRUE
    MAC address learning is disabled
    Uses VLAN ID 2-1001

    FALSE
    Uses VLAN ID 2-1024
    Supports only STP
    Supports only VTP

    @Option 82 Confused

    these questions confuse me too.
I did some detailed analysis on these two

A question about an interface received packet with option 82 and 192.168.1.1 (IP might be different). What would happen?
    A. drop
    B. forward
    C. remove 82 and forward
    D. treat as normal packet

    and

What would happen if a switch gets a packet with Option 82 with the IP address of 192.168.1.254?
    A. Drop it
    B. Forward it
    C. Stop the Option 82 and replace the source MAC address, and forward it (with its own source MAC address).
    D. Stop the Option 82 and replace the source IP address to the switch management IP address and forward it.
    E. Stop the Option 82 and forward it.
    F. Stop the Option 82 and make an proxy ARP request for the IP address 192.168.1.254.

    My interpretation

The question says nothing about DHCP Snooping or IP source guard so we assume its a switch without this configuration in place

Option82 field doesnt contain an IP address – it contains ‘RemoteID’ and ‘CircuitID’, so assume the IP address is the IP address in the unicast DHCP Offer or DHCP Ack itself

In this case the switch will always forward the packet. Without DHCP Snooping or IP Source Guard it has no reason to drop it or to remove Option 82

I just labbed it and observed the results in Wireshark

but this other question does mention DHCP Snooping and IP source guard

What happens if a switch with dhcp snooping and ip source guard enabled globally, what does the switch do when it receives a packet with option 82?
    A. Drop
    B. Remove 82 and forward
    C. Prwsoxy ARP
    D. Nothing

For this, the switch configured with DHCP Snooping / IPSG will Remove option 82 and forward
