    @switch

The point is not that lack of HSRP config on the interface
The point is that the interface is the one being tracked by HSRP Group 1

When it goes down it will have its priority decremented by 40
It will be incremented by 40 when it come up again.

So if you pick this answer then youre ok.

    Passed last week, 8XX.

Labs : VTPv3, HSRP, LACP with STP

Lots of new questions I have not seen from here before. I saw a question so rare about a sort of code, I didn’t understand the subject nor the answer.
Make sure you know, many questions about DHCP snooping, IP source guard, portfast and DHCP82. D&D VSS vs Stackwise and HSRP vs VRRP.
Many questions from the certprepare premium, with changed words. it’s important to study the basics.

    good luck!

    Passed 8XX Alhamdulillah

I still can believe how i manage to pass the exams. One thing i noticed simulations and labs cover most of the exam marks make sure to answer and configure them completely.
5 6 new question many reworded.
New updated question 6,7,8 is useless as all question came from premium section make sure to cover all topics.
As far as labs and sims is concerned all answers and solution is right otherwise i would not able to pass.
    D&D HSRP/VRRP & STACKWISE/VSS (same)

tab and ? both command working.
make sure to save the LACP with STP as save command is working fine.

    @girll

I really hate these DHCP Snooping ones

What happens if a switch with dhcp snooping and ip source guard enabled globally, what does the switch do when it receives a packet with option 82?
    A. Drop
    B. Remove 82 and forward
    C. Proxy ARP
    D. Nothing

This is a really stupid question. it totally depends on information we dont have

Lets say we have DHCP snooping enabled on a Distribution layer switch:

If the switch receives a DHCP packet with option 82 on un untrusted port, the packet will be dropped.

    If:
    – interface is trusted (ip dhcp snooping trust), or…
    – interface allows option 82 (ip dhcp snooping information option allow-untrusted)

a DHCP packet with option 82 will be forwarded with option 82 unchanged

Alternatively if we have DHCP Snooping enabled on an Access layer switch (where the DHCP client is attached…)
    – DHCP client send (discover) DHCP packet without Option 82
    – the switch adds option 82 to the request and forwards it upstream to the DHCP Server

when the DHCP reply (offer) comes back..
    – the Access layer switch recognises its local a local packet from the Option 82 CID/RID values
    – The switch removes Option 82 and forward

So A and B are both true depending on the situation.
Which situation do you think Cisco mean?

  18. boxingSurfer
    February 17th, 2020

Just read back what I wrote above and I believe the answer is
    B. Remove 82 and forward

“dhcp snooping and ip source guard..” indicates the switch is at the access layer.

DHCP Snooping and IPSG together REQUIRE option 82 for DHCP requests to work. Option 82 is used to direct the DHCP replies to the client, because the client MAC address is not learned until it has obtained a DHCP lease.

In this case when the switch receives a packet with Option 82, we can assume it would be a DHCP reply packet. The switch will remove Option 82 and forward it to the workstation port that was contained in the CID field.

    Any one please correctanswer

DHCP snooping. for more protection against malicious attacks, the network team is considering enabling dynamic arp inspection alongside DHCP snooping which solution ensure that the server maintains network reachability in the future

A- Disable DHCP snooping information option on the switch
B- configured a static DHCP snooping binding entry on the switch
C-verify the source MAC address of all untrusted interfaces with ip dhcp snooping verify mac-

    @ karim

B – configured a static DHCP snooping binding entry on the switch

    Correct answer

DAI requires switch to have all the host IP / MAC bindings in the DHCP Snooping DB.

If a host has a static IP, the switch cannot learn the binding through DHCP snooping process
Therefor static binding must be made manually

For the LACP with STP Sim, DO I ALSO NEED TO CREATE PORT CHANNEL 1 FOR BOTH SWITCHES? On real switches the PO ports are created when you create the physical etherchannel.
But in the LACP with STP Sim PO1 was NOT created.

    Please advise.

    Thank you

What on earth is this? Can’t find any documentation for it?

Which command is required for root guard for Cisco device to place ID:2071948x? (Where x is the last digit ID)
    A. (config if)# spanning-tree guard root
    B. (config)# spanning-tree guard root
    C. (config-if)# spanning-tree root guard
    D. (config)# spanning-tree root guard

@ Boxing need to re confirm answer for below A or D ?

6.When a Layer 2 EtherChannel is configured, which statement about interaction with the Spanning Tree Protocol is true?

A . Spanning Tree uses only the member ports for forwarding.
B . Spanning Tree does not use port channels in loop prevention
C . Spanning Tree uses the port channel and member ports for forwarding.
D . Spanning Tree uses the port channel for forwarding.

  29. boxingSurfer
    February 17th, 2020

    @karim

D . Spanning Tree uses the port channel for forwarding.

with etherchannel its all about the port channel, not the member ports, for STP and traffic forwarding..

  30. karim
    February 17th, 2020

@ Switchy no need of documentation bro

Router only taking one command under interface that is

    (config if)# spanning-tree guard root
